Terms of Service
Last updated: December 2024
These terms are written in plain English because we believe you shouldn't need a lawyer to understand how to use our product. When you use Namora, you're agreeing to these terms. Please read them.
The basics
Namora is a brand naming and domain discovery service. We help you find names for your projects, check domain availability, and research potential trademark conflicts.
By using Namora, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, that's okay - but please don't use the service.
Your account
You can use many features without an account. If you create one:
- You're responsible for keeping your login secure
- You're responsible for all activity under your account
- One person or company per account - no sharing credentials
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
We use Google OAuth for authentication. We don't store your Google password.
What you can do
You can use Namora to:
- Generate brand name ideas for your projects
- Search for available domain names
- Research potential naming conflicts
- Save and organize your favorites
The names we suggest are just suggestions. We don't guarantee they're available, trademarkable, or right for your specific situation. Always do your own due diligence.
What you can't do
Don't use Namora to:
- Break the law or help others break the law
- Abuse, harass, or spam other users
- Attempt to access accounts or data that isn't yours
- Scrape, crawl, or automate access beyond normal use
- Reverse engineer or try to extract our source code
- Resell or redistribute our service without permission
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
About the AI stuff
Namora uses AI models to generate brand name suggestions and perform conflict research. Here's what you should know:
- AI isn't perfect. Suggestions may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or already in use by others. We don't guarantee the quality or suitability of any AI-generated content.
- You're responsible for what you use. If you pick a name and it causes problems - trademark issues, conflicts with existing brands, etc. - that's on you. We provide tools and suggestions, not legal advice.
- Your inputs may be processed by third parties. We use leading AI providers to power our features. Your prompts and descriptions are sent to these services to generate results.
- Conflict checks are informational only. Our Brand Checkup feature searches the web for potential conflicts. It's not a legal trademark search and shouldn't replace professional legal advice.
Your content
When you use Namora, you provide descriptions, save bookmarks, and add notes. This is your content. You own it.
By using the service, you give us permission to store, process, and display your content back to you. We won't sell your content or use it for advertising.
We may use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the service - things like "X% of users search for tech-related names" - but never in a way that identifies you personally.
Intellectual property
Namora's code, design, logo, and content are owned by Namora. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.
The brand names our AI suggests aren't owned by us or by you just because they appeared in our tool. Names can't be "owned" until they're properly trademarked. If you want to protect a name, talk to a trademark attorney.
Payment
Namora currently offers free features. If we introduce paid plans in the future:
- We'll clearly communicate pricing before you're charged
- You can cancel anytime
- Refund policies will be stated at the time of purchase
We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
Third-party services
Namora integrates with and relies on several third parties:
- Hosting: We're hosted on Vercel. Your data is stored on their infrastructure.
- Analytics: We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused service that doesn't use cookies or track personal data.
- AI providers: We use leading AI models to generate suggestions and perform research.
- Domain data: Domain availability is checked through third-party registrar APIs.
- Authentication: Google OAuth handles sign-in.
When you click "Buy" on a domain, you're taken to a third-party registrar. We're not responsible for their service or your transactions with them.
The fine print (disclaimers)
Namora is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we can't promise:
- The service will always be available
- AI suggestions will be accurate or appropriate
- Domain availability data is real-time or error-free
- Conflict research catches every potential issue
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (or $100 if you haven't paid anything).
This doesn't affect any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the service or by email if you have an account.
Continuing to use Namora after changes means you accept the new terms. If you disagree with changes, you can stop using the service and delete your account.
Questions?
If you have questions about these terms, contact us at support@namora.app.
We'll do our best to respond within a few business days.
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Namora operates, unless local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
